Trooper Indicted on Ticket Grudge

Hooper was arraigned Friday on 17 counts

A New York state trooper has been indicted on charges that he issued five illegitimate traffic tickets to get back at a man he'd argued with two days earlier.

Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore said Trooper Lester Hooper was arraigned Friday on 17 counts, including issuing a false certificate and offering a false instrument for filing. He faces up to four years in prison if convicted of the top counts.

Hooper's lawyer did not immediately return a call for comment on Friday.

The defense lawyer previously said the dispute involved contact between the ticketed man and Hooper's wife.
