A trainee FDNY firefighter found a dramatic way to propose: He popped the question while hanging from a rope off the side of a building, fire officials said.

Ziyad Santana, a probationary firefighter, made the dramatic ask during family day at the Fire Academy.

The FDNY released a photo of the proposal along with a message of congratulations on Twitter Saturday. The photo was accompanied by the hashtag #RoofRopeProposal.

A young Texas couple was confronted by a pet tiger wandering in their residential neighborhood in a South Texas city. Jonathan Gessner, 19, and his girlfriend, Erin Poole, found the tiger as they were taking a walk. Gessner said the big cat was crouching in a menacing way. "She runs up to me, jumped on me and put her paws on my shoulders and just starts licking my face like a dog," Gessner said. "I thought it was pretty cool."
