Attacker Fondled, Tried to Rape Woman Leaving Bronx Subway Station: Police

Police are looking for the man they say fondled and tried to rape a woman as she left a subway station in the Bronx last week.

The 21-year-old woman left the Baychester No. 5 train station and was walking along Tillotson Avenue at about 11:30 p.m. Sept. 2 when her assailant came up from behind and pushed her to the ground, according to the NYPD.

Police say the woman told authorities the man fondled and tried to rape her, but she was able to resist and pull away from the suspect, who eventually ran off.

The woman was taken to Montefiore Hospital, where she was treated for minor cuts and bruises to her arms.
