1 Dead After Tractor-Trailer Accident on BQE

Police say no criminality is suspected

The NYPD is investigating a fatal accident involving two tractor-trailers on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.

Police say a 50-year-old man, William Gardner Jr. of New Hope, Pa., was pronounced dead at the scene after being ejected from the passenger side window under the Broadway overpass in Brooklyn late Tuesday.

Police say Gardner was traveling eastbound when his vehicle rear-ended the other truck, causing it to hit a median. They say Gardner's truck then struck a wall and he was ejected through the window.

The 51-year-old driver of the other vehicle was not hurt.

Police say no criminality is suspected.
