Tour Bus Hits Woman in Manhattan: Police

A pedestrian was injured when she was hit by a tour bus in Manhattan Wednesday, police say.

The victim, who is in her 60s, was struck by the bus as it was turning near 14th Street and 7th Avenue in Chelsea just before 5 p.m., according to police.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition, but her condition has since been upgraded to stable, officials say.

The driver told police he did not see the woman as she was crossing. He was issued a summons for failure to yield.

In a statement, bus company CitySights said: "Our thoughts are with the injured woman and her family, and we are cooperating fully with the NYPD. Safety is of paramount concern to CitySights and we have an exemplary record in that regard."
