A self-proclaimed mommy blogger is the prime suspect in the death of a 2-year-old girl in upstate New York, police say.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office says 26-year-old Brianna Valenti faces several charges in the death of the toddler, who died Saturday. WKBW-TV reports Valenti is an acquaintance of the girl's biological father.

Deputies say the girl was taken to a hospital on Sept. 10 after she apparently passed out at her Grand Island home and had trouble breathing.

Investigators say the 2-year-old sustained injuries that resulted in her unresponsiveness, though the nature of those injuries wasn't immediately clear. Valenti was arrested the next day on charges of felony reckless assault of a child, felony assault and other crimes; it wasn't clear if the charges would be upgraded.

According to social media, Valenti is a self-professed mommy blogger. She's being held Monday in the county jail on $150,000 bail.

It wasn't immediately clear if Valenti had an attorney who could comment on her behalf.
