East Harlem Toddler Died of Blunt Force Trauma, Death Ruled Homicide: Medical Examiner

The March death of a 2-year-old boy found unconscious in East Harlem has been reclassified as a homicide after the medical examiner's office found signs of blunt force trauma, authorities say.

Rashid Washington was found in a home on East 126th Street on March 20. He was taken to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities reclassified the child's death as a homicide based on an investigation by the medical examiner's office. The medical examiner's office said the boy died of blunt force abdominal trauma with liver and spleen lacerations. 

No arrests have been made.
