Three of the Country’s Best Tacos Are Right Here in the Tri-State, Food Website Says

If you’re looking for the some of the best tacos in the country, look no further than right here in the tri-state.

A national food website’s new rankings puts three tri-state restaurants in the top 50 of their “Best Taco in Every State” list.

[NATL-NY] A New Jersey Pizzeria is Serving Up a Pumpkin Spice Pizza for Fall

According to The Daily Meal, Tortilleria Nixtamal in Queens serves up the best taco in New York. Located near Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Tortilleria Nixtamal is a tortilla factory. The Daily Meal notes its carnitas taco as being its signature, but doesn’t forget to mention a few other favorites such as lamb barbacoa and homemade chorizo. The meat comes from a local butcher: “It’s taco perfection,” The Daily Meal says on its website.

The list doesn’t leave out New Jersey. As a matter of fact, The Daily Meal ranks Aguilas de Mexico in Newark as the Garden State’s go-to taco joint. Its Al Pastor is said to be a favorite with its tenderness, deliciousness and crispness, along with a hint of pineapple to finish it off. Aguilas de Mexico has only been around since 2012, but The Daily Meal notes that the locals agree with it being the king of the taco in New Jersey.

Even the folks in Connecticut don’t have to drive far to feast on the best taco in the Constitution State. Head on down to Greenwich’s Riverside and order the Carnitas tacos at El Charrito. The Daily Meal reports this Mexican takeout eatery is run by the same people who run a popular food truck in neighboring Stamford. The carnitas tacos are “simple and perfect,” The Daily Meal writes on its website.
