3 Killed in Queens House Fire; 1 Dead in Brooklyn Blaze

Four people have died in two house fires in two different New York boroughs.

Officials say three men were killed when a fire ripped through a two-story house in Queens early Saturday.

Three other men were hospitalized, two of them with critical injuries.

Fire officials say the dead men were discovered in a basement apartment in the home. Authorities say the building had been illegally divided into several apartments that didn't meet city codes.

The victims' names haven't been released.

Later Saturday afternoon, 43-year-old Philip Salvadone died when a fire broke out at his home in Brooklyn.

The cause of each fire is being investigated.
