Mother Nature is about to make Friday’s Cubs-Indians World Series game even more interesting.

Not only will the Cubs' return home be greeted with unseasonably warm temperatures, but it appears the wind may be a big factor as well.

With south-southwest wind gusts between 25 and 35 mph, possibly even up to 40 mph, expected at game time Friday, conditions will be in favor of home runs.

While Cubs fans will certainly hope that proves to be an advantage for their beloved team, both teams could potentially benefit from the winds.

It should be noted, however, that Cubs pitcher Kyle Hendricks has a history of allowing more ground balls than fly balls. Hendricks was one of the 10 best pitchers in the National League at limiting fly balls, ranking tenth in ground ball to fly ball ratio.

Meanwhile, Indians pitcher Josh Tomlin allowed 36 home runs this season, the second-highest in the American League.

Fans will also be pleased to hear that temperatures at game time are forecast to sit around 66 degrees, though it may feel cooler with the winds. Things are expected to drop to near 62 by the end of the game.
