Woman Pushing Stroller inside Central Park Pushed to Ground, Robbed: NYPD

Three teens have been arrested and charged in an alleged robbery targeting a woman pushing a stroller inside Central Park Wednesday, police say.

Pedro Castillo, 19, was charged for robbery, authorities said. John Torres, 19, was charged with robbery, criminal possession of stolen property and resisting arrest. A 14-year-old girl, whose identity is being withheld since she is a minor, was charged with robbery.

Police said the three teens -- two 19-year-old men and a 14-year-old girl -- followed the woman into the 86th Street and Central Park Transverse at about 12:30 p.m. and pushed her to the ground.

They stole her purse, then ran away, according to police.

The victim called 911 and gave a description of the suspects. Police canvassed the park and found two of the three suspects, and a third nearby afterward.

No injuries were reported.
