Woman, 82, Suffers Split Lip, Chipped Tooth in Brutal NYC Street Robbery: NYPD

Police are looking for two people, at least one of them a teenager, who brutally attacked and robbed an elderly woman on a Manhattan street, leaving her with a split lip, a chipped tooth and bumps to her knee and elbow, police say. 

The 82-year-old woman was walking on East 36th Street near Madison Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday when a man and a woman approached her, threw her to the ground and took her handbag, police said.

The bag contained a wallet, $200, keys, an ID, a flip phone and several bank and credit cards. 

The robbers ran away, leaving the woman injured. The victim declined medical attention at the scene.

The male suspect is described as about 17 years old, with cornrows in his hair, carrying a large black and white backpack. 

The female suspect has long red hair, police said.
