A northern New Jersey teenager has pleaded guilty to criminal charges stemming from a car crash that killed two high school classmates this summer.
The Daily Record of Parsippany reports the 17-year-old boy pleaded guilty Tuesday as a juvenile to two counts of death by auto and one count of assault by auto.
Morris County prosecutors will recommend that the teen be ordered to serve three years at a state youth facility, though that term would be suspended as long as the boy successfully completes four years of probation.
The teen's driver's license was also revoked for five years.
The charges stemmed from a July 26 crash in Randolph. The two people killed in the crash, Jack Timmerman and Calvin Verduga, played on Randolph High School's football team.
