Teenager Killed in Gruesome Staten Island Crash

18-year-old killed in crash after Suburban runs stop sign

A suburban packed with seven people, including six teenagers, sped through a stop sign on Staten Island Monday night and smashed into a Nissan Sentra, flipping the Sentra over into a parked car and killing an 18-year-old passenger in the Suburban, according to a police report.

The 18-year-old suffered serious head and body trauma, and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The list of other injuries is gruesome: A 17-year-old girl had her right arm partially amputated, a 16-year-old girl broke an ankle, two people suffered facial injuries and one body trauma.

In all, seven people were injured in the crash, including  the driver of the Sentra, a 20-year-old man.

The accident occur ed on the corner of Hillside Terrace and Hylan Boulevard at about 9:47 p.m. Monday. The Suburban's driver fled the scene before police arrived.
