Teenager Beat His Father to Death in Queens: NYPD

    A 19-year-old was arrested on charges that he beat and killed his father in Queens, police said Saturday.

    Dimitrios Safetis is accused of leaving his father, 57-year-old Ioannis Safetis, with trauma to the left side of his head and scratches to his face, police said.

    First responders called to the scene of the attack Friday evening at around 9:30 p.m. found the older man unconscious in front of a building on Utopia Parkway in Auburndale, police said. The spot was less than a mile away from the apartment where the two men lived on 190th Street.

    The younger man was arrested on charges of manslaughter, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon. It wasn't immediately clear if he had a lawyer who could comment on his behalf.
