A 17-year-old girl was shot and killed while sitting on the porch of a home in Newark last night, authorities said.
Investigators believe Kamara Ingram, of Irvington, was visiting her boyfriend at the house on South 10th Street when she was shot at about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday.
She was pronounced dead at University Hospital 15 minutes later.
The Essex County prosecutor's office and Newark police are actively investigating the homicide. No arrests have been made.
