Teenage Girl Shoved, Robbed in Central Park by Man Asking for a Dollar: NYPD

A man asking for a dollar pushed and robbed a teenage girl in Central Park on Tuesday, police say.

A 15-year-old girl was walking in the park around 6 p.m. when the 30-something-year-old man walked up to her, according to the NYPD.

The man asked the girl what time it was and then asked for a dollar, authorities said.

When she told him she didn’t have any money, the man shoved her to the ground and snatched her cellphone out of her hand, officials said.

He then ran northeast inside the park, police said.

Police Wednesday night released surveillance images of the man (above) in hopes of catching the suspect.
