Teen Discovers 6-Week-Old Girl Inside a Shoebox in Brentwood: Suffolk County Police

The 14-year-old heard a baby crying on his back porch, authorities said

Authorities are looking for whoever left a 6-week-old girl in a shoebox on a back porch on Long Island. 

Franklin Ulloa heard a baby crying on his back porch shortly before 9 p.m. on Thursday, Suffolk County police said. When he went outside, the 14-year-old discovered a 6-week-old girl wrapped inside a blanket with a bottle of milk.

The teen told his family and they brought the baby inside before they dialed 911, authorities said.

The infant was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where doctors said she was in good health. Child Protective Services was notified.

Authorities ask anyone with information about the baby to call Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives at 631-854-8352.

The investigation is ongoing.
