Teen in Critical Condition After Brooklyn Liquor Store Shooting

A shooting at a crowded liquor store in Brooklyn has left a teenager in critical condition and another young person injured, police said Saturday.

A 19-year-old man was shot in the head in the attack inside a Brownsville liquor store on Mother Gaston Avenue, according to the NYPD. A 20-year-old woman was shot in the ankle, and was taken to the hospital where she was treated and released.

Police are investigating whether the two were intended targets.

"It was a store full of customers. People came in and they just started shooting," said store owner Kenny Hernandez, who said there are too many illegal guns in the area.

"It's very dangerous over here," he said. "It's upsetting."
