Teen Arrested in Attempted Rape Outside Bronx Apartment: NYPD

Police say they've arrested a man who attempted to rape a woman as she walked into her Bronx apartment last month.

The 27-year-old victim was walking to the door of her home on Andrews Avenue in Morris Heights around 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 24 when the 15-year-old suspect followed her inside, the NYPD said.

When they reached the fourth-floor landing, the teen choked the woman and kissed her on the lips, according to police. He then touched her body over he clothing and pulled her hair as they struggled.

The suspect fled soon after.

The woman refused medical attention.

The teen is charged with attempted rape. He isn't being named because he's a minor.
