Police say they arrested a 17-year-old boy at his Queens school after a safety agent found a knife in his backpack Tuesday.
The teen was arrested at the Queens Vocational High School in Long Island City after a kitchen knife was recovered from his backpack, police said.
The student told authorities he brought the knife to school because he felt threatened.
He did not try to attack anyone with it, police said.
The boy is expected to be charged with criminal possession of a weapon. The Department of Education did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
