Lanes Reopen After GWB Accident, Residual Delays

Drivers should expect residual delays traveling out of the city via the George Washington Bridge after a deadly accident stalled traffic this morning.

All lanes have now been reopened on the outbound upper level. The lower level of the bridge is open to all vehicles except trucks.

The accident happened at about 4 a.m. this morning. An SUV overturned on the upper level of the bridge and a person was killed.

It wasn't immediately clear what caused the accident.

Inbound lanes are not affected aside from rubbernecking.
