Suspect, Victims Identified in NJ Triple Slaying

Police have identified a New Jersey man suspected of fatally stabbing his parents and toddler niece in their family home.

The Hudson County prosecutor has charged 23-year-old Carlos P. Campos of Harrison with three counts of murder and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Hudson County prosecutor Edward DeFazio says Campos is accused of stabbing his parents, both Brazilian immigrants, and his sister's child, after what may have been an argument with his father.

The victims are identified as 56-year-old Carlos Campos-Trinidad, 58-year-old Ruth Pereira and 3-year-old Gabriella Morales. The child's mother is traveling in Haiti with a mission group and the father has been notified.

Campos is being held on $3 million bail and will make a court appearance following a mental health evaluation at Jersey City Medical Center.
