Suspect Sought in Manhattan Bank Robbery, Attempted Robbery

Police are looking for a man accused of robbing a Manhattan bank and attempting to rob another one Wednesday afternoon.

The suspect walked into a bank on Eighth Avenue in Chelsea around 2 p.m. and demanded money, but the teller refused, so he fled empty-handed, the NYPD said.

Less than half an hour later, he walked into another bank on Irving Place by Union Square and demanded money, police said. The teller complied and he fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

Police have released a photo of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
