A man was charged with stabbing a good Samaritan who tried to break up a fight in a Brooklyn subway station, police say. 

Steven Jones, 41, of Brooklyn, was charged with assault and possession of a criminal weapon, the NYPD said Saturday. 

The good Samaritan was stabbed in the arm and rushed to an area hospital after the attack at the Smith and 9th Street station in Gowanus on Thursday afternoon, according to the NYPD. The victim is expected to be OK.

Police said he tried to intervene in a fight on the platform between two men when one of them attacked.

It wasn't immediately clear whether Jones had an attorney.
