Police say they've made an arest in connection with an attempted rape on Staten Island.
Shahzaib Akbar, 18, was charged with burglary and sexual abuse, the NYPD said.
Surveillance video allegedly shows Akbar follow a 20-year-old woman to her home in the area of Dongan Avenue and Manor Road at about 1:25 a.m. Tuesday and force his way into her apartment, investigators said.
The woman told police that Akbar sexually abused her and attempted to rape her, but fled when she began to scream.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital after the incident and was reported to be in stable condition, police said.
