Man, 70, Accused of Touching Himself in College Library

Suspect Karl Wildermuth has been banned from the college library for more than a decade after he was accused of squeezing a woman's buttocks in the library in 2009.

A 70-year-old man has been arrested after police say he was caught masturbating in the same Long Island college library where he allegedly groped a woman three years ago.

Police say Karl Wildermuth walked into the Hofstra University library in Hempstead at about 4 p.m. Tuesday and sat behind a female student. He then allegedly placed his hand in his pants and began masturbating.

The victim notified public safety officers who then detained Wildermuth until police arrived and arrested him.

Wildermuth was charged with public lewdness, forcible touching and burglary. He will be arraigned in Hempstead later Wednesday. It wasn't known if he had an attorney.
