An infant had to be rushed to the hospital after falling into a pool on Staten Island this afternoon, turning a beautiful Memorial Day weekend into panic over a potential tragedy, authorities said.
Emergency personnel responded to a call of an 18-month-old boy falling into a pool on Brehaut Avenue at about 1 p.m. Saturday. The condition of the child wasn't clear as of 4 p.m.
A neighbor told The Staten Island Advance she heard "horrifed screams" coming from the nearby backyard, and that it "sounded like something was very wrong."
