Suffolk County Man Found Guilty of Plotting to Kidnap His Attorney

The 48-year-old will be sentenced Dec. 14

A former Long Island man has been convicted of plotting to kidnap his attorney over a personal injury settlement.

Newsday reports that 48-year-old Glenn Terry was found guilty Thursday of second-degree attempted kidnapping and five weapons charges. The former Holtsville man will be sentenced Dec. 14.

Authorities say Terry planned for more than a year to grab and duct tape Frank Tinari and take him to Terry's father's basement in Holtsville. They say Terry told police he wanted to douse Tinari in gasoline so he'd understand what Terry was going through.

Tinari, who is the chairman of the Suffolk Conservative Party, had won Terry a $450,000 settlement after Terry was scalded from falling into a bathtub.

Defense attorney Marc Gann says he was disappointed by the verdict.
