Subway Worker Pushed onto Roadbed by Man Who Found Money on Tracks: NYPD

A man pushed a subway worker onto a subway roadbed in an argument over money that was lying on the tracks, and the suspect and his accomplice are being sought by authorities, police said.

The 41-year-old worker was on a northbound E train platform in or near Greenwich Village at about 2 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 12 when he got into an argument with two men about cash that was found on the train tracks, police said. 

One of the men pushed the worker onto the roadbed, injuring the worker's ankle, police said.

The suspects ran away, and the victim was taken to St. Luke's Hospital for treatment.

It's not clear what station the alleged assault took place; the NYPD said it happened in the 6th Precinct, which encompasses Greenwich Village and West Village. 

One of the suspects captured on surveillance camera is described as being about 30 years old, about 5 feet 11 inches tall and 200 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
