Subway Robbers Attack Straphangers, Steal Mountain Bike and Cash: NYPD

The NYPD is looking for at least three robbers who they say attacked subway straphangers before stealing their phones, bank cards, cash and a mountain bike.

Police say that the suspects are wanted in a pair of robberies on the city's mass transit system on Nov. 16 and Nov. 17.

In the first mugging, three men approached a 37-year-old man in the stairwell of the Southern Boulevard and East 149th Street station. One suspect restrained the victim while another held his arm. The third suspect punched the victim in the face and body while removing his Samsung Galaxy, bank cards and a mountain bike.

The second man was robbed inside the Southern Boulevard and Longwood Avenue station. Police say a 54-year-old man was descending the stairs when two suspects approached from behind and placed an unknown object in his back. They suspects then removed cash from the victim's pocket.

Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
