Several Subway Lines Disrupted After Man Jumps in Front of Train at Times Square Station: Officials

Trains on the N, Q, R and W lines bypassed the Times Square-42nd Street station for more than an hour Wednesday morning after authorities said a man jumped in front of a train.

The man leaped to his death at the busy transit hub at about 9:20 a.m., according to the NYPD. Police said that the man was seen pacing back and forth on the Broadway line platform before making the jump.

Trains bypassed the station for about 90 minutes after the suicide, but trains began running normally with extensive delays at about 11 a.m.

It comes two days after a  49-year-old woman was allegedly pushed to her death on the 1 line platform at the station.

Melanie Liverpool, the 30-year-old authorities said confessed to pushing the woman, said in an arraignment Tuesday that she was not guilty and "didn't admit to nothing."
