Two students brought loaded guns into a New York City high school Monday, police say.
A 16-year-old student brought a 22-caliber gun to Curtis High School on Staten Island, and an 18-year-old student brought a 40-caliber gun, police said.
School safety officers were alerted by another student.
The students are being questioned NYPD's 120th Precinct station house in St. George.
A spokeswoman for the Department of Education said, "The safety of students and staff always comes first and this troubling incident was swiftly addressed."
A parent at the school said he was disturbed to hear of guns being brought into the building and wanted appropriate action taken.
