NYPD: Sandy Flooding May Have Damaged Evidence

New York City police officials say criminal evidence may have been damaged or destroyed in Sandy's floodwaters.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly told reporters on Tuesday that the storm caused flooding at a large NYPD storage facility in Brooklyn.

Kelly said the NYPD was still trying to determine what evidence may have been wiped out and what can be salvaged.

The devastating storm surge last month caused Newtown Creek to overflow and flood the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, where the NYPD facility is located.
