2 Brooklyn Store Workers Shot While Chasing Armed Robbers: Police

Employees inside a Brooklyn appliance store chased two would-be robbers out, managing to apprehend one of them but getting shot in the process, police say.

The suspects walked into the Mia Cucine store in Midwood at around 7 p.m. and threatened the four workers inside, according to police.

The employees chased the robbers out and in the process, one of the workers was shot in the torso just outside the store, police said.

The three other workers continued to chase the suspects down the block, and a gun again went off, grazing one of the workers in the torso, police said.

The other employees managed to catch one of the suspects and hold him down until police arrived. That 24-year-old suspect is in police custody and facing charges.

The other suspect, a 21-year-old, is still at large, according to police.

The injured employees were taken to Lutheran Hospital and are expected to be OK.
