Some Staten Island Railway Service to Resume Monday

The 7:25 a.m., 8 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. express trains will run Monday for the first time since Sandy

Commuter rail service in Staten Island is slowly getting back on track, as service resumes on some of the Staten Island Railway express trains Monday morning.

The 7:25 a.m., 8 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. express trains will run Monday for the first time since Sandy slammed the island.

Crews have been working steadily since the storm making repairs, after salt water from Sandy's storm surge corroded nearly all of the Staten Island line's electrical components.

The MTA says full morning express service should be restored by the end of the month.
