Shoplifters' Mugs Displayed on S.I. Mall Digital Ads

One of the offenders has been arrested 138 times under several names.

The Staten Island Mall is displaying digital billboard ads featuring the mug shots of shoplifters.

One of the offenders has been arrested 138 times under several names, according to the Staten Island Advance.

She's been convicted 66 times -- and banned from the mall for life.

District Attorney Daniel Donovan says the mug shots are intended as a deterrent.

The mall's senior general manager, James M. Easley, says he's seen customers point to the billboard and tell their children: "You don't want to be that guy.''
