Homeless Long Island Robber Stabbed 2 Men: Police

Both victims were taken to local hospitals

Police say a homeless robber stabbed two people and crashed a getaway car into tree on Long Island this week.

Eddie C. Harris is accused of stealing a victim’s wallet and stabbing him in the chest, back and arm Wednesday morning in Bellmore. The suspect left the scene in a car, which he crashed in to a tree and bush in nearby Merrick.

Police linked the suspect to another robbery in North Long Beach Tuesday where a man was stabbed in the stomach.

Both men were taken to local hospitals.

Harris, 32, is charged with first-degree assault, second-degree robbery, second-degree assault, possession of a weapon, possession of stolen property and two counts of second-degree robbery, according to the Nassau County Police Department. He will be arraigned in court Tuesday, but it is unknown whether he has an attorney.
