A 16-year-old boy was stabbed to death amid a wild Long Island house party that drew people from three communities after an invite and details were posted about the bash on Instagram, authorities say.
The boy who died has not been identified, nor has a 19-year-old person who was also stabbed in the fray early Thursday at Roman Avenue and Costar Street in New Cassel. The condition of the older victim wasn't immediately clear.
Nassau County cops found the 16-year-old seriously injured when they responded to a call about the stabbing shortly after 1 a.m. He died at a hospital.
Police say about 100 people came to the house party. The festivities poured out into the street at some point and there was an argument. A large fight broke out and shots were fired. No one was hit by the gunfire, but the boy and the 19-year-old man were stabbed. No weapons were recovered.
Authorities say there was alcohol at the party, where there were minors present. The homeowner may face charges, they say. Meanwhile, authorities are searching for a killer. Anyone with information is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
