SoHo Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit by Taxicab

The 29-year-old Baltimore man was crossing Sixth Avenue at Watts Street when he was struck

A man was killed in SoHo early Sunday morning when he was struck by a taxi while trying to cross the street, police said.

The 29-year-old man was crossing Sixth Avenue at Watts Street at about 4:30 a.m. when he fell and was struck by a yellow taxicab going uptown, police said.

The victim, identified as Dan Fellegara of Baltimore, Md., had been trying to dodge traffic when he was crossing the street, police said.

Fellegara was taken to New York Downtown Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The taxi driver stayed on the scene. No criminality is suspected, police said.
