“Snoopy” Offed in Brutal Stabbing

Husband accused of killing wife's beagle in drunken rage

A Bronx man brutally killed his wife's cute beagle Jerry following a drunken altercation less than a month after their wedding, police said.

Brian McCafferty's allegedly spent Tuesday night out drinking with friends and getting soused. When he returned home at 4:45 a.m., he had a  heated argument with his wife Jeanine Tulimero, who later stormed out of the apartment. According to the New York Post, a neighbor then heard "barking and yelping" from the couple's apartment.

When Tulimero returned to her home, she found Jerry the beagle bloody and lifeless. McCafferty cut his hand in whatever events transpired during Tulimero's absence. According to the Associated Press, police say McCafferty shot Jerry with a BB gun before stabbing the dog to death. Cops arrested him and he's been charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal mischief, and animal cruelty and reckless endangerment.

A brutal lout taking his relationship frustrations out on an innocent animal is reminiscent of the case against Joseph Petcka, who was charged with kicking and stomping his girlfriend's cat to death after accusing the girlfriend of loving the feline more than him--which seems pretty reasonable, actually. The hulking former minor league hurler and major league loser said that the cat attacked him and he was just defending himself. His trial ended in a hung jury.
