Snake Slithers Into Bronx Apartment … Again

The Commodores certainly didn't have Kareem Lewis in mind when they sang "Easy Like Sunday Morning."

The Bronx teenager woke up at about 10 a.m. in his family's apartment on Sherman Avenue yesterday and saw a 3-foot-long boa constrictor looking right at him, The New York Post reported.

"The snake was just staring at me," Lewis, 18, told the paper.

The teen's mother and younger brother were at church when Lewis and the snake began their staredown.

"I started to panic when he started to slither at me," Lewis told the paper.

Eventually, Lewis put a box between himself and the snake and dialed 911, he told the Post. Police showed up and coaxed the visitor into a pillowcase before animal control officers arrived.

It was the second snake saga in as many weeks in the Bronx. In the first one, a snake slithered all the way up to a fourth-floor apartment but didn't harm the family of three after a 10-year-old boy noticed it lurking under a table.
