Hammer-Wielding Robbers Smash Display Cases at Long Island Jewelry Store, Get Away With Rolexes

Police on Long Island are hoping security video of three robbers carrying out a brazen smash-and-grab at an upscale jewelry store at Roosevelt Field Mall will help locate the suspects.

The Tourneau Jewelers store inside the mall in East Garden City was robbed around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to police.

The three suspects approached two salesmen working in the Rolex section of the store, then suddenly took out hammers and began smashing display cases, police said.

They took several Rolex watches, then ran out of the store, heading south through Macy's and then out of the south entrance of the mall.

The suspects were seen getting into a green Ford pickup truck with gray running boards, then going east on Ring Road.

Last month, police in Westchester released video of three suspects in a smash-and-grab robbery at the Tourneau store in Westchester Mall. Those robbers also used hammers and got away with at least $315,000 in big-ticket watches.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects in the video is asked to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
