Slight Severe Storm Risk Saturday, Mostly Pleasant

Expect a nice beach day, partly cloudy skies and a breeze, but there is a high risk for rip currents, so use caution in the water

The first day of Fall, which officially arrives Saturday at 10:49 a.m., should be mostly quiet, with warm temperatures rising close to 80 degrees and light humidity.

Expect a nice beach day, partly cloudy skies and a breeze, but there is a high risk for rip currents, so use caution in the water.

A cold front may bring some thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and evening, mainly from 5 p.m. to midnight, though not everyone will see rain. The possibility that any storms that do form will have the potential to reach severe levels with damaging winds and an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out.

Sunday should be breezy and cooler.
