Skeleton Found in New Jersey Woods With NYC Lifeguard Windbreaker

State Police are trying to identify skeletal human remains that were found in a wooded section of New Jersey.

A hunter made the discovery off Route 40 and Main Avenue in Atlantic County's Buena Vista Township on Thursday.

Troopers also found a red windbreaker with "N.Y.C. Lifeguard Dept. of Parks" written on the back. There also was a black baseball cap with "Puerto Rico" written in blue and red on the brim and in a circular pattern with the Puerto Rico flag on a seal on the front.

A green backpack containing a black LG cellphone and prescription eyeglasses was found nearby.

State Police are hoping anyone who recognizes the items will contact the Buena Vista Station at 609-561-1800 ext 3355.
