Sinkhole Opens Near Brooklyn Intersection

Crews are working to repair an 18-inch sinkhole that opened up near a busy Brooklyn intersection Wednesday evening.

The sinkhole near Driggs and Metropolitan avenues in Williamsburg appears to have been caused by a break in the sewer line, according to the Department of Environmental Protection.

Emergency crews were dispatched to make repairs and to replace the sewer line.

No buildings have been evacuated, and there was no report of any injuries. There's no loss of water to any residents in the area.
