“Silly” to Take Lara Logan Tweets Seriously, Says NYU Fellow Who Resigned

Journalist Nir Rosen tweeted Tuesday that CBS' Lara Logan "was probably groped like thousands of other women''

A journalist who resigned from a New York University fellowship over his tweets about an assault on a TV newswoman says it is "silly'' to think his comments were serious.

Journalist Nir Rosen tweeted Tuesday that CBS' Lara Logan "was probably groped like thousands of other women.''

CBS has said Logan suffered a brutal sexual assault and beating.

Rosen said in an e-mail Thursday that his Twitter posts about Logan were bad jokes addressed to a few people.

He said it goes without saying that assaulting a woman is wrong.

He added that the media ignore many other victims of violence.

Rosen resigned Wednesday from a fellowship at New York University's Center on Law and Security.
