Shouting Match Between Straphangers Leaves Man With Deep Gash to Arm: NYPD

A shoving and shouting match between two straphangers ended in one of them being slashed on the Lower East Side, police say.

A 50-year-old man and a woman were both boarding a downtown M train Monday around 6 p.m. when the two began pushing each other, according to the NYPD. When the duo got on the train, the feud escalated after they began yelling at each other.

The shouting got so intense the woman whipped out a small razor blade and gashed the man on his left arm, police said. When the train stop at Hewes Street, officials said the slasher took off in an unknown direction.

The victim suffered a cut to his arm and paramedics treated him on scene, authorities said.

The woman who sliced the man is described as being about 40 years old, weighing 150 pounds and sporting several tattoos on her arms, neck and face. Witnesses are urged to call Crime Stoppers with tips that could help them get her off the streets.
