2 Dead, 7 Hurt in 7 Separate Shootings Across NYC Within 6 Hours: Police

Two people were also stabbed on subways in Brooklyn and Manhattan

Two people were killed and at least seven were wounded in seven separate shootings within six hours across the city overnight, and another three people were stabbed on subways, police say.

Three people -- two women and a man -- were shot near East 96th Street and Avenue M in Brooklyn after a party spilled out into the street around 10 p.m. Monday, police said. They were all expected to survive.

Over the next five and a half hours, a 20-year-old man was fatally shot in the neck, an 18-year-old man was fatally shot in the head and four other people were confirmed shot in six shootings in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens, police say.

One of the shootings was on La Salle Street, near Columbia University.

Around the same time as the shooting near Columbia, police say two suspects stabbed a southbound Q train rider in the head and stomach at the Atlantic Avenue station in Brooklyn when he refused to give them money. They both fled the train at Prospect Avenue, and a broken knife was recovered in the station.

About an hour later, two men were stabbed aboard a southbound 4 train at the Lexington and 116th Street station in Manhattan after an argument.

All three stabbing victims are expected to survive, police say.
