Man Shot at Club Where Plaxico Burress Shot Self in 2008

The shooting erupted at Latin Quarters on 47th Street and Lexington Avenue

A 26-year-old man was shot early Monday at the Manhattan club where Plaxico Burress shot himself in 2008, law enforcement officials tell NBC 4 New York.

The shooting at the club Latin Quarters around 3 a.m. appeared to be related to a fight about a woman, officials said.

The victim was expected to survive, and a gun -- stolen from Virginia in 2008 -- was recovered at the scene.

Burress served 20 months in prison for illegally carrying and firing a gun at the club on 47th Street and Lexington Avenue.

Burress, then a New York Giants receiver, was out with linebacker Antonio Pierce that night, with his handgun tucked into his sweatpants. It slipped and discharged as he tried to grab it, hitting Burress in the thigh.
